The Pre-School Room
Our pre-school room accommodates 20 children between the age of 3 and 5 years. This room has lots of toys for the children to discover and learn in a more formal learning environment, getting the children ready for the transition from nursery to school. The room is designed to have separate areas to accommodate a large range of structured activities. We have a malleable play area, mark making area, small world play area, book corner, role- play area and lots more to meet the planning needs. The children in this room follow the foundation stage guidance.
Once children reach 3 years they become eligible to 3 hours per day of free education. This is delivered for the children attending our nursery by our Early Years Professional who holds a Degree in Early Years Care and Education, alongside other experienced and qualified nursery staff, to ensure a rich foundation stage being delivered.
All of our rooms open out onto the back of the building leading to a large outdoor play area. The children can play safely on the decked area outside our rooms or walk down the ramp onto the bottom area, which is a mixture of soft play, bark, and a flagged area. We have a wide selection of large equipment for the children to use.
We go outside everyday so that the children experience the fresh air. For the summer months we have sun canopies to protect the children from the direct sunshine, and for the winter months we have wellies and children’s umbrellas so that the children can experience light showers and splashing in the puddles!
